We are two years and nine months in the ministry!!! Time has flown by quickly. In the past several months we have seen our dream blossom into a reality. What started out as a small gathering of about 20 believers in the small living room of my sisters house, has now become a church of over 120 attendees. Many are watching as members of their family begin attending church. They see, not only the lives of their family members change, but the hearts of those family and it is drawing them also towards God’s teachings and to Evangel Philippines. God is bringing in whole families, which is great for the family of God. This is what the Word of God said," that the whole household will be saved." One of the ways in which we are encompassing our ministry is the early morning prayer meeting that starts at 5:00 AM at the sanctuary. Starting small, it is now well attended and a tremor of change is beginning to sweep through the neighborhood. Many within the community are beginning to see the changes.
As one of the morning meetings was going on, an 8 year old playing nearby at the playground joined in, listening to what was being taught. After the message was spoken to those who came to hear, the child gave her life to Jesus. Later that week, she brought her family along to church and they too were saved and gave their life over to the Lord. The scripture is full of examples of people changing the lives of their family members with one act of faith.
Rahab helped the spies, and in doing so helped her family to give their hearts to God. She not only had a spiritual connection to Christ, but she was one of his descendants. Peter ministered to Cornelius, Paul shared his relationship with a jail guard, each bringing in members of their family into God’s saving grace.
When these families change it changes an entire community. Looking around the neighborhood, you now see less drinking in the streets. There is less gambling around to influence impressionable young children. God is doing wondrous and exciting things within our community.
We are thankful for all who helped us reach where we are now today.
